In our series on how to get the most out of your aesthetic treatments, last week we talked about sun protection.  This week lets be real about the importance of a consistent quality Skincare routine.

Work it out!

Taking care of your skin is a lot like starting a diet or exercise program. If you only follow your diet “sometimes” and go to the gym occasionally and expect to lose weight and get fit, it’s probably not going to happen. The same goes with taking care of your skin. If you’re 40 years old, it took you 40 years for your skin to show it’s signs of aging, sun damage, etc. and nothing will repair that damage overnight.

You have to use quality, safe, and effective products consistently in order to get results.

Do your homework!

“The repetition of small efforts will accomplish more than the occasional use of great talents” Charles Spurgeon

You can’t excel in anything without putting in your work at home!  Even if you invest in quality treatments for your skin, if you are not putting in the small efforts in the morning and evening to nourish your skin with all of the nutrients that it craves, even the use of our “big talents” at Timarron Aesthetic center will not be maximally effective. You are only taking two steps forward and one step back!  Keep the health of your skin moving forward by putting in the small amounts of time necessary to reap big benefits over the long-term!

Follow the Recipe!

Can you use just one or two products inconsistently from a skincare regimen?

The answer is yes you can…BUT…would you make a great cake by altering the ingredients? Think of using a skincare regimen like baking a cake. Would you make a cake and skip the flour? Or not use sugar? Or put the cake batter in a pan before using a mixer? No, because you wouldn’t get the results you want. Just like in baking, you will get the best results for your skin when you consistently use all of the ingredients needed.

I love the Jan Marini Skincare Management System because these products are designed to work together seamlessly and the system contains all of the “ingredients” that you need to transform your skin; and it’s a great value.  Don’t cut corners when it comes to your skincare. Using the right ingredients, in the right formulations, in the right order consistently is the perfect recipe for the best results!

Some tips to help you with consistency

No matter how great our aesthetic treatments are, none of them are “one and done”.  At TAC, we can help you get the process of skin renewal and collagen production started but a quality consistent Skincare routine is the food that the new collagen is going to thrive on!

It has been said that it takes 21 days to create a habit and 90 days to make it part of your lifestyle.  If you struggle with getting into the habit of a consistent skincare routine, here are some tips to help:

  1. Get a jumpstart-Come in to TAC for a professional consultation and customized treatment plan to address your individual needs and concerns. Start with a facial or treatment to jumpstart your results so that you will see visible benefits sooner.
  2. Baby Steps-If you’re not in the habit of taking care of your skin, start with just one goal, like cleansing your skin morning and evening no matter what! Once you have mastered this, you can move on to adding the rest of the steps of your routine.
  3. Make it easy-Keep all of your products organized, beautifully displayed and all in one place. There’s a good chance that after you cleanse your skin, you will be motivated to go ahead and complete the routine since you’ve already started.  The beauty of Jan Marini Skincare Management System is that the products are meant to be applied directly over each other and do not need time to “dry” in between.  The whole routine can be completed in less than 5 minutes!
  4. Stay positive- It might be daunting at first, but remember that any progress, no matter how small, is good progress and that each day you get one step closer to your goal.

Here’s to developing a consistent skincare routine one day at a time!
